What to Expect

Family Constellations can be done individually or in group settings. In a group, other participants represent your family members in a spatial arrangement that reveals hidden dynamics. In individual work, objects, figurines, or floor anchors serve as representatives. The facilitator guides the process as representatives report their experiences, often revealing systemic truths the client couldn't previously access. Sessions can be emotionally significant — space is held throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know a lot about my family history?
No. You bring whatever you know — or don't know. The field itself often reveals what's needed, sometimes independent of conscious historical knowledge.
Is it similar to psychodrama?
There are surface similarities, but Constellations work with the systemic field (the Knowing Field) rather than dramatic re-enactment. The facilitator intervenes rarely and minimally.
Can it be done online?
Yes. Virtual Constellations use digital objects or video representatives and are widely practiced, particularly for individual work.
